This week, we look at the line between what machines do and what humans do best.

In our Wednesday newsletter, we talked about robots that sew and AI that mimics real people. We saw that technology is moving faster than ever. This activity is a simple way to help your children see the truth behind those stories. Machines are good at doing the same thing over and over. Humans are the ones who bring the meaning.

It is a fun way to find your Human Superpowers. It gets your family ready for a future where thinking for yourself is the most important skill.

How It Works

Look Closely

Look at a picture of a robot or a cool AI video together. Here is an example.

Ask these questions.
💠 What do you see first?

💠 What is impressive?
💠 What would still be easier for a person to do?

Play the “Human or Machine?” Game

Ask your family to sort these abilities into two groups:

  1. Which are easier for machines?

  2. Which are easier for humans?

Examples to discuss:

💠 Sewing fabric precisely
💠 Understanding someone’s feelings

💠 Creating a brand new idea

💠 Copying a movement perfectly

💠 Leading a group of friends
💠 Writing a heartfelt story

💠 Detecting whether a video is real or fake

There are no perfect answers. The value comes from the discussion.

Ask AI the Big Question

Open an AI tool.

Ask it this prompt. “If robots are great at being precise and AI can copy people, what skills should humans focus on learning?”

Compare

Then compare the answer with your own ideas.

Does AI emphasize the same traits your family discussed?

Why It Works

💠 Connects to Weekly Insights: This activity ties back to our Wednesday talk about robots and digital actors. It helps turn a news story into a life lesson.

💠 Helps Kids Think: This activity helps kids look past the magic of tech. They start to see tools as helpers instead of things that replace them.

💠 Celebrates Being Human: A machine can copy a movement. Even so, it cannot feel the love behind a hug or a handmade gift. This shows why our feelings and ideas matter.

💠 Builds Future Skills: You might focus on things like solving problems and being a leader. By doing this, you are giving your kids a map for success in a world full of robots.

Parent Tip

Focus on the why. There are no wrong answers in the game!

If your child thinks a robot can be creative, ask them what they think that means.

These talks help them learn to make good choices as they grow up.

Family Extra

After you play, come back to this week’s newsletter and leave a comment: “What’s one thing you wish someone had told you about AI before your kids started using it?” We read every response!

Pay It Forward
