✨This Week’s MindSpark: The Couch Potato Escape🛋️

Screens are on. Energy is low. The family has merged with the furniture.
This week’s MindSpark™: The Couch Potato Escape 🛋️, turns your tech into a launchpad for physical fun. Instead of using AI to entertain you passively, we are using it to spark a burst of energy.
This challenge invites your family to invent a customized movement game in seconds, play it, and then test how different AIs “think” about fun.
How It Works:
💠 Pick any space (indoor living room, outdoor patio, hallway) and identify who is playing (including pets!).
💠 Ask your favorite AI tool (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, etc.): “Help us invent a 5-minute movement game called The Couch Potato Escape that works in our space [describe it & people/pets] and involves simple rules for all ages.”
💠 Play the game exactly as described. Laugh through the awkward parts!
💠 Ask a second AI model the exact same prompt.
💠 Compare the versions. Which game was sillier, faster, or more creative?
Reflection:
💠 How did each AI model interpret your space differently?
💠 Which rules did you have to change to make the game work (human judgment)?
💠 Which version felt more like “your family”?
Why It Works:
💠 Breaks screen fatigue with immediate physical movement
💠 Teaches adaptability and “remixing” ideas
💠 Demonstrates how different AI tools yield different results
💠 Shifts the dynamic from consuming content to creating fun
Family Extra
After catching your breath, ask everyone:
“If we added one rule to make this game absolutely impossible (or hilarious), what would it be?”
This is how families use AI with intention, building healthy habits and digital literacy at the same time. Let’s raise creators, not just consumers. Let’s lead our families with curiosity, connection, and care.

*****NEW BOOK LAUNCH*****
DISCOVERING AI: A Parent's Guide to Raising Future-Ready Kids is now available on Amazon. It is the next chapter of this conversation, a guide to help families move from confusion to confidence with frameworks, real-life stories, and simple weekly practices.
My hope is that it helps parents practice intentional parenting and recognize our role in ensuring technology becomes a tool for purpose and connection, not a threat to it.
