This week’s MindSpark: Family World Travel Challenge ✈️

No suitcases, no passports, just imagination.
This week’s MindSpark™: Family World Travel Challenge ✈️, takes your family around the world from your living room, powered by curiosity and a little help from AI.
Whether your family dreams of Paris, Peru, or the Philippines, this challenge helps kids (and parents!) explore new places while learning how different AI tools “see” the world.
How It Works:
💠 Each family member picks one country they’d love to visit.
💠 Ask your favorite AI tool (ChatGPT, Google Gemini, or Anthropic Claude):
“Create a travel brochure showing why our family should go there.”
💠 Include at least three things your family loves to do together: hiking, eating, relaxing, sightseeing, etc.
💠 Take turns presenting your “AI brochure” to the group, complete with reasons and highlights.
💠 Vote for the winner! (No voting for your own country.)
💠 Optional twist: Try more than one AI tool and compare. Which gave the best description of your family?
Reflection:
💠 What did AI get right about your family?
💠 What did it miss that only you would know?
💠 Did any country surprise you or make your travel list longer?
Why It Works:
💠 Encourages curiosity, creativity, and storytelling
💠 Builds digital literacy through simple comparison
💠 Strengthens family communication and connection
💠 Turns AI exploration into a family adventure
Family Extra:
End the night by asking everyone:
“If we could visit one of these places this year, what would we do first?”
Or create a “Family World Wish Map” with photos of your top picks.
This is how families use AI with intention, learning about the world and about each other.
Let’s raise creators, not just consumers.
Let’s lead our families with curiosity, connection, and care.

*****NEW BOOK LAUNCH*****
DISCOVERING AI: A Parent's Guide to Raising Future-Ready Kids is now available on Amazon. It is the next chapter of this conversation, a guide to help families move from confusion to confidence with frameworks, real-life stories, and simple weekly practices.
My hope is that it helps parents practice intentional parenting and recognize our role in ensuring technology becomes a tool for purpose and connection, not a threat to it.
